Care Package Time!

September 23rd, 2009

It’s time for a Care Package, don’t you agree? Because who doesn’t love packages full of fun things?

Leave a comment and make sure I have a way to contact you, please. I’ll randomly draw a name and send you your very own customized All Dressed Up Care Package.

Comments open until Friday @ midnight CDST.

Also, only US/APO/FPO addresses, please. Foreign shipping rates are just too damn expensive, yo.

Winner!

December 6th, 2008

My random number generator (i.e., Gerald) chose number 23, which is Ms.Prufrock! YAY!

An email is on the way to you, Pru.

Thanks everyone for entering. And if I had lots and lots of money, I’d buy you all a Christmas present.

Santa’s Lil’ Helper

December 2nd, 2008

I want to get you a little something for Christmas. I’m not sure what yet, but I can promise you it will be fabulous. So here’s the deal: this contest is ONLY OPEN TO MY REGULAR READERS/COMMENTERS. I know that sounds harsh, (all caps AND bold, for goodness’ sake!) but it’s my blog and that’s the way I roll.

All of you regulars, please leave a comment on this post by noon central time on Friday, Dec 4th. I’ll randomly pick a name and then not-so-randomly pick a present for you. Remember, it’ll be fabulous!

Shoes! Wicked Cute Shoes, Even!

December 1st, 2008

Three Ps is having a contest over at her place. She’s giving away a pair of KEENs.  Get over there and start lusting after shoes!

PiF Pissiness

October 6th, 2008

So, remember when I asked about sending a PiF package when I hadn’t really won one myself? I sent it. I thought I put together a thoughtful assortment of gifts. The person who won isn’t one of my closer blogging friends, but I took the time to paruse her site to get an idea of things she might like.

I mailed the package and then waited to hear from her. Two weeks went by and I finally checked the delivery confirmation thingy from the post office and sure enough, it was delivered. It’s been over three weeks since I sent it and I haven’t heard one word. I sent an email to her a few days ago asking if she got it and I haven’t heard anything back.

I’m really kinda pissed about it. First of all, it’s the height of rudeness to no thank someone for a gift they gave you. Even if you hate it like poison. Secondly, the whole spirit of the PiF movement was to bring happiness to each other. This does not bring me happiness.

Because who doesn’t want a free purse?

September 29th, 2008

Go here and enter! Win a fabulous purse and tell everyone you won it because of me.

Thanks

August 13th, 2008

I appreciate your advice on the PiF situation. I didn’t want to ruin the spirit of the contest by sending something when I didn’t really win anything. But, you’ve convinced me that I wouldn’t be messing it up, just doing something nice for someone. And the world certainly needs more of that, doesn’t it?

PiF Ettiquette Question

August 12th, 2008

Hypothetically speaking, someone was told they won a PiF contest all those weeks ago. This was the second or third contest this person won, so she decided to just pick another random person from her original contest. With me so far? This girl emailed the new winner and told her all about it and got the stuff to put into the package.

Well, then something, like maybe a surgery or something, came up and she totally forgot to mail the package. AND THEN, she never heard back from the person who’s contest she won. She has a feeling she’s never going to see that package. No big. BUT, does she still send the package to her winner, even though she’s not really paying anything forward? And it’s been like a month?

Help a sister out, willya. You know, hypothetically, that is.

Home. Also, Winner.

July 5th, 2008

Lady Godiva, come on down!!

My random number generator Gerald chose number 33, and that’s you. An email had already gone out asking for all your secret identity info.

We’re home, now. Mom is still in the hospital. Bleh.

Pay it Foward Contest

June 30th, 2008

Are you as excited about our Group Effort Pay it Forward contest as I am?  Probably not, as I am disproportionately excited about it. It’s just what my summer doldrums have been begging for.

In case you’re not exactly sure what a Pay it Forward contest is, I’ll offer a brief explanation. You enter the contest and if you win, you will get a package from me. Sounds like a regular ol’ contest, doesn’t it? BUT IT’S NOT! If you win, you then have to have a contest on your blog and send a package to the winner. See? You win something and then you Pay it Forward by awarding a prize to someone else who, in turn, has to have a contest on their blog. And it keeps going until we’ve decided enough already! Nifty, huh?

I’ve opted to shop for the winner after they’re chosen, instead of offering a one-size-fits-all kind of a prize. I’d like to personalize it just for YOU when you win : )

Official Contest Rules:

The contest is open until Friday, July 4th at noon edst. I’ll be out of town, but will pick the winner when I get back home on Saturday. Then, we’ll chat via email and you’ll give me your vital stats. Then, I get to go to Target and buy cute things for you!

Your entry will be your comment answering this question: What’s the one indulgence you try to treat yourself to on a regular basis?
