Holiday Cards from Shutterfly

November 14th, 2011

In exchange for writing this post, I have been given 50 free holiday cards from Shutterfly. But I would have written it for nothing. All of my experiences with Shutterfly have been outstanding and I’ll be a life-long customer.

Holiday cards from Shutterfly have become an annual tradition on the Dressed Up household. I love choosing the perfect design and perfect photos to create our holiday masterpiece. We live far away from most of our family so our holiday cards are a great way to send them pictures of the kids while giving a cheerful greeting at the same time.

In the Christmas card section, you can chose from folded, flat stationary or flat photo cards. Personally, I’m a fan of the folded cards since I’m more of a traditionalist when it comes to holiday cards. The beauty of Shutterfly is that there’s something for everyone. You’ll find the perfect card to send your love to all of your friends and family.

Are you looking for a great gift for the grandparents? Photo books are perfect! What grandparent isn’t going to swoon over a book full of pictures of the most adorable kids on planet?

If a whole book is too much for you this time of the year, and let’s be honest, we all have 8 million other things to be doing, you can choose from lots of other awesome photo gifts. Gerald’s family is made up of card sharks. Seriously, these people are ALWAYS playing cards. You’d better believe these playing cards will be in several stockings this year.

I don’t want to hog all the Shutterfly goodness for myself, so I’m giving three of you a chance to get some cards of your own. Shutterfly has given me three gift codes for 25 cards each. Leave me a comment with your favorite holiday carol and you’ll be entered to win one. Contest closes on 11/15/11 at 11:59pm CST. One entry per person, please.

Low Level Hum of Crappiness – A pay-it-forward contest

May 12th, 2011

Lately, things have been kind of crappy. Not like deaths or job losses or house fires, thank goodness. Just sort of a low level hum of crappiness in the background, you know? A layer of malaise has settled over our household and we can’t seem to shake it.

In times like these, I’m reminded how much a package or a card can cheer me up. Luckily, tomorrow is my birthday so there have been a couple of surprises in the mail that have brightened my days considerably. I know there are quite a few of us that have this low level crappiness thing going on, so I propose a pay-it-forward package contest.

It’s simple, really. Leave a comment here to enter the contest. I will randomly pick a winner and send them a personalized care package. The winner, in turn, will host her own pay-it-forward contest and send someone else a care package. Repeat as necessary. And if you want to start your own contest on your blog, by all means, do so! We can have multiple contests going at once! Maybe our packages will cross in some distant post office somewhere!

If you’d like to participate, please leave a comment on this post by midnight CDST on Friday the 13th. (Also my birthday. Ahem.) If you’re hosting your own contest, you can still enter mine : )

November 17th, 2009

Yours truly has been selected as one of the five semi-finalists in the Microsoft Office Winter Games contest. This means that I have a chance to be the official Microsoft Blogger at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

I KNOW!!!

So, here’s where you come in. To narrow it down to three finalists, Microsoft has opened up voting today until 11/29. You can vote once a day! When voting closes, the judges will choose a blogger from the three finalists.

Now, you all know that MY posts from the Games will be spectacular and funny, but not EVERYBODY knows that. Please ask your friends and family to vote for me, too, k? I know it’s a lot to ask, but I’ll totally bring you back something AWESOME from Vancouver. Maybe a skier. Or one of those speed-skating guys. They’d be handy to have around the house, right? I bet those other semi-finalists would only bring you back a t-shirt. Sheesh. What the heck are you going to do with a another t-shirt?
