My 35 week OB appointment went well. I had a sonogram and The Boy is estimated to weigh 6lbs and he’s in the 55% percentile. He’s measuring a week ahead based on head, femur and stomach sizes. His teeny balls have descended and were QUITE visible on the sonogram. For some reason, it makes me laugh every time I see them on the screen. They’re just so… out there, you know? Maybe I’ve just got the mentality of a third grader.
According to my OB, last night’s five hours of misery was actually productive. The Boy is now “engaged” in my pelvis and is at zero station. I haven’t dilated anymore, but my cervix has softened and is effacing. He thinks it’ll be sometime between 36 and 37 weeks when I go into labor. (I’ll be 36 weeks on Friday, fyi.) The parental units have all been put on alert for traveling and watching Maddie during labor.
The doc was again very pleased with my chances for a successful VBAC, which makes me super happy. I think. Mostly it makes me super nervous and scared for my poor ‘gina.

Glad he’s doing well and last night’s misery wasn’t all for naught. Good luck to you and your ‘gina!
I am very excited that you’ll hopefully get a vbac ! Don’t be scared. Haha, I know… Just DON’T, right! But seriously. Your body knows how to do this. You have worked so hard to get healthy, and now look at your little pregnant self! You are totally in fine shape for a normal birth, and you can do it! I had rough pregnancies too, and both times I felt like the birth part- and that’s without meds, even!- was the easiest part of the whole ordeal, when you take emotions into account. The pure misery of false labor and bedrest and all? So different compared to thrill of pushing out your baby, pain and all.
I’ll shut up now. But you can do it! Go Erica!
I’m excited for you! And glad The Boy is still hanging on in there and not coming out just yet. And, as always, you look adorable!
You look awesome and it sounds like baby is doing awesome as well! It won’t be long now. =)
My kid will be thrilled to know you used her word ‘gina!! Tell Bonk to keep on keeping on.
BTW, you look ADORABLE! I know you feel like a huge whale, but you really do look great.

Whenever you post good news about you and the baby, I just feel so happy for the both of you.
Just wait until that boy is born and his teeny balls are all swollen from the hormones. You’ll have to look away.
