One Number Two

October 19th, 2009

I saw my OB this morning and a sonogram confirmed that I am pregnant with just ONE baby. Hallelujah and Amen!

I’m measuring 7w 4d which gives us a due date of 6/3. Everything looks great. Heartbeat was 151 and I got to bring home some unidentifiable pictures for Maddie. She’s so excited to be a big sister. She talks to and hugs the baby in my tummy and constantly reminds me that she’s “going to be the best big sister EVER!” Also, there’s apparently a slide and some balls in my tummy for the baby to play with.

I get to see little Number Two again on 11/16 for the Nuchal Translucency test. Nuchal schmuchal; I’m only doing it for the extra sonogram. I can’t wait to see the little bean moving all around.

So exciting. You’re due about the same time my sister-in-law is. It’s all so fun. I suppose if I can’t have another baby myself, at least some of the people I love can.

Woo hoo for only 1 baby!

I too can cheer you one for the one baby thing! It is, after all, a big fear of mine.

Also, I guess it’s time to come clean and admit that I am jealous of your pregnancy. Very happy for you- YES- but wishing I too could do that again.

(We are not trying to get pregnant or anything. Jury is still out on the Possible 4th Baby thing). But oh, how I love the magic of adding to a family!

Hope things continue to go well for you! Also, I’m not sure if a fetus that young should be going down a slide? I personally didn’t allow those kinds of inter-uterine toys until at LEAST the 2nd trimester.

YAY!!! Only one baby! And an extra sonogram to boot!

Yay! I know how you feel. I was obsessive with the pee sticks. It drove my husband crazy. And then the second I found out I was pregnant, I switched to major freakout that I might have multiples. I was never so happy to see a single heartbeat. Good luck with the Nuchal Translucency Test.
