Maternity Clothes Help
October 11th, 2009
So, it seems as though my jeans are no longer comfortable. I’ve lost 5lbs since I got pregnant and my damn jeans are cutting off my circulation at the waist. I didn’t want to go to work tonight because I look fat. Not pregnant, just fat. GAH!
Anyhow, enough whining about the inevitable. Let’s talk maternity clothes. Specifically jeans. Where the best place to get some? Old Navy’s website has lots that look nice. Not so much Target or Kohl’s. I need a couple pairs, so they can’t be wicked expensive either. Discuss.*
*We are NOT discussing the fact that I’m not even 7 weeks along and my pants don’t fit. That discussion would make me cry, k? Thanx!

It’s totally normal for your pants to quit fitting almost immediately with the second baby. It’s more about the muscles relaxing than about weight gain.
I wore almost all Old Navy stuff. Do you have a store near you that actually carries maternity wear in store? I know not many of them do. I did get some stuff from Kohls and Target, too, but my faves were from Old Navy. Of course, this was over 3 years ago, so maybe it’s changed.
BTW, you look MARVELOUS! MWAH!
Almost all my maternity clothes are Old Navy too! I have to order online, since my store doesn’t carry it though.
The majority of/all my favorite things came from Old Navy. When I was pregnant the second and third time it was hard not to dig my jeans out right away because they were just that comfortable.
Shelly – Luckily, my local Old Navy happens to sell maternity clothes. I think I’ll motor over this afternoon and see what they’ve got.
That is an inevitable part of pregnancy. You will look just fat for a few months and then all of a sudden you will look pregnant. Hang in there.
I wanted to add, check your local goodwill. I was in ours the other day to drop off stuff and saw racks and racks of brand new maternity clothes.
I was a Motherhood Maternity junkie when it came to jeans and pants. I really liked their different options and fits.
I had really great luck with JCPenney jeans and cords. They were almost always on clearance and so comfy and not super maternity looking I hated giving them up post-baby. I usually only paid about $5/pair.
Old Navy had the best jeans, but I loved Liz Lange maternity at target for tops and dresses. Tres chic!
I have no opinion since I had kids over a decade ago and I am still upset that my hubby won’t let us have another one just so I can have some cute maternity clothes…opposed the the hideous crap they passed off as maternity clothes then. Seriously did you see any of it? Ruffles, stripes and stirup pants.
Not a fan of the old navy maternity jeans, the elastic band always twisted when washed. For my 2nd pregnancy (baby boy is 5.5 months today) I fell in love with Levi maternity jeans. I got them at Kmart of all places, for something in the $20 range too! Good luck!
