Update-o-rama
Thank you all for the supportive and encouraging comments on my last post. You’re the reason I love the internets.
Gerald’s recovering really well from his surgery. He went back to work today, as a matter of fact. He’s handling the extreme lifestyle changes so much better than I did. He hasn’t cried ONCE, people. He’s been pissy as all get-out, but not weepy or pathetic. He’s also already lost the same amount of weight in two weeks that I lost in the first month. I’m not sure whose idea it was that men should lose weight so easily, but I’d like to punch them in the ‘nads.
We took Maddie to get a haircut yesterday. She’s got very thin, fine, soft hair and I can’t keep it out of her face. I’ve tried every ponytail holder known to mankind and they all slide out in a matter of minutes. So, we decided to get a chin-length bob. She lost about six inches of hair and aged two years. I swear she looks like a little kid now. My little baby is all gone.

Half Assed*
It’s been a little over 13 months since I had gastric bypass. I’ve lost 135lbs and sometimes I forget exactly how much weight that is. Yes, these are actual pants that I used to wear. Can you believe it?

* I’ve been planning this post and title for more than a year. It feels SO GOOD to actually post it!

Maddie’s a hyper spaz an energetic child. She loves to run and yell and play. However, I’m not an energetic mom. I’m more of a lazy mom, really, and I need to be more active with Maddie. What do you guys do with your toddlers? There’s a playground in our neighborhood that I can take her to. She’s got a Kettrike but hates to ride it (she only wants to push it around). She really needs an outlet for all this energy and I don’t want to be bored or hot and sweaty in the 100 degree heat. (There are no kids her age in our neighborhood for her to play with, but I’d join a playgroup if you think it’d help.)
I’d love your suggestions, please.
