More ambitious than I ought to be
With BlogHer only 30 days away (SQUEEEEEE!!!!), I’ve decided to set a goal of posting every day until then. I seem to have fallen out of love with my blog and I’m hoping that spending some quality time together will bring back the spark.
That being said, I make no claims to publishing actual interesting content. My goal is to post. Not to post well.
Item the 1st: Why is it that motorcycle drivers/riders ALWAYS acknowledge each other on the road? I’ve seen a motorcyclist on one side of the highway raise a hand in some sort of half-assed wave to other motorcyclists on the OTHER side of the highway traveling in the OPPOSITE direction. I mean, I understand the whole “acknowledging a member of your particular tribe” thing, but really? I don’t wave to everyone else driving a minivan. I don’t wave to other mothers pushing their kids around in carts at Target. (You know, unless I know them or whatev.) I don’t give a shout out to every other person with visible tattoos, either. So what’s the deal with motorcyclists? Do any of you ride/drive a motorcycle? Can you PLEASE clue me in? This is driving me batshit crazy. Thank you.
Item the 2nd: My weight loss has stalled. Now, when I say stalled you may get the idea that I’m working diligently to lose weight by exercising and eating healthfully. And you’d be wrong. I’m pretty much eating like crap and not moving unless it’s absolutely necessary… and not always then. I really need a swift kick in the ass. Feel free to leave one for me in the comments. Bonus points if you throw in guilt about not setting a good example for/not being around a long time for Maddie.
Item the last: My “business” cards for BlogHer arrived today. I. Am. So. Effing. Excited.
Filed under: BlogHer 09, WLS, daily, where do I come up with this stuff?

You’re freaking me out with the countdown to blogher…I have to get some CLOTHES. lmao.
Bus drivers do that thing, too, with the waving. For real.
Also, I’m not going to give you a swift kick in the ass but you can look at those pictures of the progress of your weight loss and you might INSPIRE yourself.
xo

This is me doing the happy dance because I get to read more from you.
Mini drivers do the wave thing too. I even do it when I drive the Mini.

I do it to other Honda Element drivers; not necessarily a wave but a head nod for sure and an appreciative smile.

I was just thinking about the bike thing last night. I was at an intersection and a bicycle was in the lane next to me. A motorcycle pulled up next to the cyclist and THEY nodded at each other. I was amazed the biker nod extended across species.
I have to figure out what I’m wearing next month. Yet I’m only packing a small carryon suitcase. How am I going to manage???

Parents of twins do this, too. Though now that my twins are older and don’t look like twins anymore, it has stopped.

So glad to see you back!! I think I’m going to start throwing gang signs at other Prius drivers, yo yo.
And I don’t want to kick your ass for not eating right/exercising. That would be SOOOOOOOO hypocritical, and I’d have to get one of those ass-kicking machines so I can do it to myself.

The biker wave is a respect thing. Bikers are “waving” to acknowledge being out on the road together… Bikers also use other gestures to warn of police and things like that.

Table for one for a swift kick in the one’s skinny bum:
You are my motivation. I watch your awesome weight loss and I really believe that I could be you. I went to my first Bypass seminar last week because you’ve motivated me to get off my arse and do something for myself. I’m so envious at times, what with you having the kid & the totally successful weight loss story, but I know that hopefully this time next year, I’ll be posting my own success pictures and maybe even knocked up with my own womb parasite.
So get to it. I don’t want to be skinny by myself next year. Plus you have a cute kid to take care of (and tire out so you can have fun adult time).
