Dude. Enough already.

So, I’ve got to have surgery on Wednesday. The Mysterious Pain in my abdomen hasn’t gone away and is now accompanied by elevated liver enzymes. Since CT scans haven’t revealed the problem, my surgeon feels it’s in my best interest to carve me like a Thanksgiving turkey go in and have a look around the joint. At this point, he thinks it may be either an internal hernia or a twisted bowel. Neither one sounds pleasant, but he assures me that should he find either one whilst wandering around my belly, he’ll be able to fix it right up.
On one hand, I’m feeling like perhaps I made a mistake having the bypass. I’ve lost a metric ass-load of weight, but I can’t stop having complications. I wanted to be healthier, not having THREE surgeries in nine months. GAH!
On the other hand, I look like this now, so perhaps it’s not such a bad deal after all. (My in-laws got me this dress for my birthday. I saw it at Christmas time and it was too expensive. She found ONE last dress and it was on sale. Notice the size. And yes, I can zip it all the way up AND still breathe, thankyouverymuch.)

Haha! I have to say the same thing as Mimi there. I am so sorry that you are having to through a little abdomen tour again but DAMN you look fine in that dress. LOVE IT.
I think what you’ve experienced while not perfect, isn’t all bad. No really, better to get some of this stuff over with now. Good luck with surgery too.
Oh yeah, and Hot Damn, I was about to start bugging you for pictures, and you look even better than I expected.

As for the surgery… that totally sucks and I hope it goes quickly and well. However, keep in mind that these complications are a very real part of WLS and you are not alone. I think your honesty has been very inspirational!

Sorry about the surgeries, but you know what? You could have had a lot worse complications by NOT having surgery.
You know, the pesky stuff like heart attacks and high blood pressure and you know…THAT kind of stuff.
You’ll be fine. Heck, you already LOOK fine!

Hey there!!! I think these sorts of complications are fairly normal but you’ll work through it and trust me, you’ll be soooo very glad!! I am two years out from WLS and my first year was rough too. This past year however has been amazing!!! Hang in there. It will all be fine!!
I still think the surgery was absolutely worth it. I’m so sorry about the complications but in the end you’d have had other complications due to your weight that would have been worse, and probably more long term than these. Plus, you look hottttt. I hope this is your last complication!
