Pay it Foward Contest

June 30th, 2008

Are you as excited about our Group Effort Pay it Forward contest as I am?  Probably not, as I am disproportionately excited about it. It’s just what my summer doldrums have been begging for.

In case you’re not exactly sure what a Pay it Forward contest is, I’ll offer a brief explanation. You enter the contest and if you win, you will get a package from me. Sounds like a regular ol’ contest, doesn’t it? BUT IT’S NOT! If you win, you then have to have a contest on your blog and send a package to the winner. See? You win something and then you Pay it Forward by awarding a prize to someone else who, in turn, has to have a contest on their blog. And it keeps going until we’ve decided enough already! Nifty, huh?

I’ve opted to shop for the winner after they’re chosen, instead of offering a one-size-fits-all kind of a prize. I’d like to personalize it just for YOU when you win : )

Official Contest Rules:

The contest is open until Friday, July 4th at noon edst. I’ll be out of town, but will pick the winner when I get back home on Saturday. Then, we’ll chat via email and you’ll give me your vital stats. Then, I get to go to Target and buy cute things for you!

Your entry will be your comment answering this question: What’s the one indulgence you try to treat yourself to on a regular basis?

  8. Alice on June 30, 2008 9:00 am

heh, i like becky’s answer, although i guess it’s not really “indulging” myself with a “treat” if i have it.. uh.. all the time?

we’ll go with starbucks instead :-)

Hi, I lurk here a lot but don’t think I’ve ever commented.

In the summer, it is pedicures for sure. My all the time guilty pleasure is coffee on my way in to work, instead of making it at home.

  10. mom of the year on June 30, 2008 9:03 am

YAY! This is fun. Hmmm. Indulgence on a regular basis? Coffee from a real coffeehouse. Yeah.

  11. Shannon on June 30, 2008 9:09 am

Coffee…everyday. My husband HATES coffee. The smell, the taste, everything.

  12. Tessie on June 30, 2008 9:09 am

I had better win one of these damned contests, I’ll tell you that much.

    Coffee. And Wine.

  16. grace on June 30, 2008 10:56 am

Love this! I love going out with my best friend at least once a week. Lunch, shopping, even window shopping, it’s the one thing that keeps me SANE in this very INSANE world.

That, and reading blogs, like yours!

    HUGS!
    grace

Oh this is hard…. I have a few indulgences, I have to say. Let’s go with chocolate.

  18. daycare girl on June 30, 2008 11:07 am

Ice cream, usually. Although sometimes when I go to the Baskin/Dunkin I end up with donuts instead.

  19. Fiona Picklebottom on June 30, 2008 11:19 am

Recently, I’ve been indulging in orange sherbet with chocolate chips. WAY better than it sounds.

  20. Lorraine on June 30, 2008 11:30 am

  25. nicole on June 30, 2008 1:53 pm

I buy earrings at Target about once a month. Usually silver ones. I need to branch out. Also, unsweet iced tea from anywhere almost daily.

  26. Kelsey on June 30, 2008 2:28 pm

I try to get a massage once a month. It was originally necessary because of back issues, but now I believe it helps my back and my sanity. I would be hard pressed to give it up.

  27. emily on June 30, 2008 2:45 pm

Naps. Which I am sure I will not be able to indulge in nearly as often when the baby arrives. . . or books. I love to buy books.

  28. Michelle on June 30, 2008 3:21 pm

Manicures. Although my nails are looking horrible right now!

Ice cream. Which is why my waist-to-hip ratio is all out of wack.

  36. Danielle-Lee on June 30, 2008 8:35 pm

Hmm….starbucks. Or pastries. Or pasties, because that’s what I almost typed the first time. Pretty big difference between pastRies and pastIES. ouch!

  37. Maggie on June 30, 2008 8:36 pm

  41. Becky on July 1, 2008 6:04 am

  42. Ashley on July 1, 2008 8:28 am

I would have to say Sushi. I can’t do it on a regular basis (hi, checking account, we’re still friends right?) but I have to have it at least once a week.

  43. Laura on July 1, 2008 11:35 am

I would love to say that my favorite indulgence are spa services, but since having kids, I’ve scaled very far back and would be happy with a tall cup of cappuccino in the morning. I’m simple. Really.

  44. SassyPants on July 1, 2008 12:04 pm

Getting my hair cut and colored. It’s expensive but it always feels so good.

  52. caren on July 1, 2008 8:33 pm

    microbrewery beer mmm…

  53. Jennifer on July 1, 2008 10:27 pm
