Things I’m Loving Right Now
1. Arm & Hammer Detergent with OxiClean. This stuff is WONDERFUL! It took all the stinky milk smell out of Maddie’s blankets. Our clothes seem so much cleaner since I’ve started using it.
2. OxiClean Laundry Stain Removal. It’s like Spray ‘N Wash, but OxiClean. Maddie got strawberry juice on her brand new white t-shirt and one spray with this stuff at it was gone. GONE. It also got a stain out of one of my t-shirts that’s been there for a month. Dried in and everything. It’s amazing.
3. Jergens Natural Glow Lotion. I’m cursed blessed with deathly palor alabaster skin. I’ve been using this on my legs for a week and a half and I’m no longer blindingly white. This gives a nice glow that’s not scary fake tan orange.
4. Dole Baby Bananas. Maddie loves bananas, but can’t finish a whole one. I hate bananas, so I don’t finish them for her. I was throwing away the remaining half a banana, which is pretty wasteful. Last week, I discovered baby bananas. They’re about four or five inches long and perfect for Maddie. They’re $.99 a pound and the bunch of seven that I got was just over a pound. Maddie has one every morning and I don’t feel guilty for wasting food.
5. Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Creamy Wash. Maddie has a slight case of eczema and this cleanses well and keeps her skin from getting dried out. It doesn’t smell good, as it’s fragrance-free, but it doesn’t smell bad. After her bath, I slather her with Aveeno’s Calming Comfort lotion which smells like lavender and vanilla, so she ends up smelling like that. I’ve tried all kinds of body washes for her and this one really keeps her skin in check without being insanely expensive.

Baby bananas! I hadn’t thought of that, but that’s GENIUS!
I’ve heard that Bath and Body Works makes self-tanner in many of their scents now, and that it’s pretty good stuff.
The laundry stuff sounds great. I’ve been debating whether I want to try something new. I just use a cheap brand now, but I think something else might clean our clothes better. So I just need to decide whether it’s worth the money. A good stain remover, however, I KNOW is worth the money. The OxyClean sounds good. I may have to give it a try.
When Zachariah doesn’t eat a whole banana, I just wrap it in plastic wrap. He can have the rest the next day. This also works if you just leave half in the peel, then wrap it in plastic. The end will be the only part to brown, so I just trim that off.
Ooooh, I want to try all these, too!!!
I’m glad to hear about the OxyClean stain remover; I bought some yesterday and am currently washing several shirts with stubborn stains right now. I can’t wait to see the results!
And the Aveeno wash sounds promising, too. We’ve been using the Arbonne products on Liam, but man, those suckers are EXPENSIVE!!
Great tips - thanks!
Um, this is the most useful post I have read in a REALLY long time. I am totally going to try items 1, 2, and 3. And I’ll keep 4 and 5 in mind for when I have a kid.
Jess - In this case, let’s assume “useful” means “boring,” k? I had nothing else to write about.
On my way to get OxiClean spray! We’re getting strawberry juice on EVERYTHING recently.
