Surgery Update

I’ve completed three months of my six month pre-surgery requirements. I have a psych evaluation scheduled for tomorrow morning that requires me to drive a very long way in Dallas rush-hour traffic. To say I’m not please about this would be an understatement. However, it seems like a small price to pay in the long run. Once my evaluation is complete, I simply have to finish the remaining three months of medical supervision. That’s it. I’ll be home-free.

One of my best friends attended the surgery seminar last night and has decided to go for it. It seems as though it’s getting to be commonplace these days. I’m not sure that’s a good thing at all. Trust me, if I didn’t feel like this surgery was my last and best chance at a healthier and longer life, there’s no way I’d be doing it.

  1. Uch, BE CAREFUL in this shit weather (look at me, pretending like I don’t LURVE IT!)(I totally LURVE IT).

Psych eval! My god! I can’t wait to hear all about THAT! (Aka, every single detail, even the ones that are none of my beeswax)

I am positively MANIC today! Thanks wintery mix!

  2. I had no idea you had to go through 6 months of stuff!!! Wow.

  3. Seriously, I’m all Nervous Tummy about the weather tomorrow morning. It’s actually SNOWING in Southlake.

  4. Wow, well good luck tomorrow. It sounds like you’re on the right track.

Good luck to your friend too. You know I’ve been watching “Big Medicine” on TLC Wedneday nights at 10:00. It’s interesting…all about weight loss surgery. Many people say this is their last chance at losing weight. Anyway, I see what they mean.

    Praying for you, Erica.

  5. Oooh, and even if you know how to drive in snow, most of the other folks on the road have NO CLUE.

  6. This is such good news. Not the scary driving part, that part just sucks, but the surgery stuff.

This is going to be so great for you!

    HUGS!

  7. Good luck tomorrow. Leave early, drive slow and arrive safely! City traffic - whether there be weather issues or not - would result in my arriving in a Crazy State. I hope that doesn’t happen to you!

Congrats on meeting the halfway mark!

  8. Oooooh, psych stuff. I love psych stuff. It’s SNOWING there? Damn. It’s been upper 50s/low60s here in the Philly area this week. Downright BALMY.

  9. It could be worse - you could be driving in Cleveland weather this week. After some nasty ice storms a few days ago, we’re supposed to be getting 10-18 inches of snow tonight. Oh, and then there’s the water main that broke downtown, big enough to blow 12 manhole covers right off. Oh, and then there’s the fact that the busted water main happens to be right under streets that the city just spent a year tearing up & replacing, but apparently didn’t think to check the pipes while it was all opened up! Gah!

  10. wow, a 6 month requirement! Well I guess they’d want you to be serious, but…6 months?!?

Good for you for getting to the 1/2 way point.

  11. From the first moment my family doctor suggested weight loss surgery until my surgery actually took place it was about a year. From the moment I first saw my surgeon and began the process it took about 6 months. Trust me in this, it’s so well worth it. I can now fit in size 8 jeans after a lifetime of size 24 give or take a size or two. Hang in there. I can’t wait to watch your progress!! You’re going to love your life!!

    Hugs~
