Bah! Humbug!
We are on our third dry morning. I’m not sure if it’s the alleged “overnight-ness” of the diapers, or the fact that they are a size bigger than Maddie’s normal diapers. It may even be a combination of the two. All I know is that I’m thrilled and I bet the bebe is, too.
I finished my Christmas shopping yesterday. Except for my father-in-law, who refuses to tell anyone what he wants. I delegated his gift to Gerald. I have officially washed my hands of Christmas gifts. Except for the wrapping, which is a job that ought not be delegated to Gerald. No offense intended, dear husband.
My cards are written, addressed, stamped and ready to be mailed. I just need to box up a present for my grandfather and I can take everything to the post office together. Done and done.
The older I get, the less I enjoy Christmas. It’s a long list of “have-tos” and fewer and fewer “get-tos.” Perhaps I’m just a bitter and jaded bitch grinch. PERHAPS.

I haven’t enjoyed Christmas (or Thanksgiving for that matter) for some time now. I’m hoping it gets BETTER as AD gets older (Santa, presents, etc.).
Good to know that the overnights work.
It does get really hectic. I expect a breakdown (for me) sometime next week. I’ll be in the midst of tons of holiday baking and freaking out about having enough time to get everything done, so we can leave on Christmas Eve for a week or so. Yikes, I’m starting to freak out now thinking about how close it all is.
I am so envious that your are done. I’m still struggling to get the Christmas cards out and the shopping, well, I still have a nephew to buy for. I’m totally with you on the fading enjoyment issue. Perhaps I’ll have to post the journal entry about that.
Oh, and, - YAY for being PEE-FREE!
I have three cards ready to go, the ones that are going outside the US and are probably already late.
yay for no pee sheets!
I found I had a time when I didn’t really enjoy Christmas, and then it picked up again–but with me enjoying different parts of it. I STILL don’t enjoy the part where the kids open their presents! It’s so exhausting! I like the part when they’ve gone to bed and the adults open their own presents with a glass of wine or two or three.
You are well ahead of me. Enjoy your peace; you’ve earned it!
I’ve never enjoyed the gifting part of Christmas. Too much pressure to find the perfect, trendy, expensive gift that I can’t afford. By a deadline. A deadline!
And I hate -HATE!- getting gifts. Hate.
Bleh.
Yes, Christmas season seems to have lost its sparkle with me as well. Hmmph, i say.
so JEALOUS. You’re a stud. (You know, a female stud.) I wish I was even close to done. Plus we’re going away this weekend and we leave for our cross country flight on Wednesday so there is officially NO TIME. (wah wah wah.)
Glad to hear the overnights worked. Perhaps we’ll have to give them a try again…
