My vacuum sucks

Heh Heh… I’m so witty.

I got a Dyson. The Absolute Animal, to be specific. I love it with the fire of a thousand suns. I vacuumed my living room the day before I picked up my Dyson, so I immediately came home to vacuum again just to see what vile and horrible things the Dyson would suck out of my carpet. I had to empty the canister three times just for the living room alone. The first batch was nothing but dog hair. Then, it was all dirt. THAT CAME OUT OF MY CARPET. I felt so dirty. I vacuum at least once a week, and my carpet was disgusting. I told Gerald that I thought the Dyson might be sucking the dirt out of the ground underneath the house.

I’ve had it for three weeks now and I’m still impressed with it’s suction. I have to empty the canister once for the living room, once for the hallway, Maddie’s room and the office, and then once more for our bedroom. My old Hoover only needed to be emptied after I was done with the whole house. Also, I notice the carpet pile isn’t as smooshed as it used to be. The Dyson sort of fluffs it better, you know?

So, if you’re in the market for a new vacuum, and don’t have a problem spending an obscene amount on said vacuum, get yourself a Dyson. I also recommend purchasing your Dyson at Linens ‘n Things. I bought mine online and used one of their 20% off coupons. They give the option of picking up your purchase at your local store for free. I ended up spending $475 with tax. Not bad, when the vacuum started at $550.

  1. We bought our dyson a few years ago when I couldn’t take the dog hair situation any more and I still love it to this day. As one of my favorite things, it comes in 2nd only to the kitchenaide mixer . . .

It does a great job with dog hair, doesn’t it? I’m finding that I have to dust less often because the Dyson gets most of the hair so it doesn’t float around the house.
I love my mixer, too! Have you see those cool flames decals you can get for them?

  2. Ohh, those are SO nice. We bought another vacuum last but not one of those beauties I kind of wish we went with the investment b/c I have heard such good things about them AND the new vacuum cleaner is not that great. Bums me out!

I’m sorry the new vacuum is not so great. I didn’t want to waste money on another crappy vacuum. We’ve had 3 in the last 4 years. I was willing to spend the $ if the Dyson was as good as I’d heard it was. Time will tell, but I’m guessing it’s going to be a great as I’d hoped!

  3. I thought you were going to say that the DYSON sucks. I was nervous. I want one of these, but I will probably end up getting five shitty $100 vacuums in the next five years instead.

I justified the expense because I figured I’d end up spending $500 on shitty vacuums over the next five years. If this one lasts five years, then I’ll consider it a great investment and will get another one.

  4. Man! We bought a new vacuum a few months ago and I really wanted a Dyson but couldn’t convince hubby to swing it since we were buying a stand mixer at the same time. This one works pretty good compared to our old crappy one, but we only have one rug in the whole house. We’ll see how it is when we move and have rooms and rooms of carpet.
We can’t afford it now, but maybe when I get annoyed enough at our current vacuum it will be around Christmas time some year. hehe

  5. All this talk of vacuuming makes me glad we have hardwoods!

  6. Oh, I’ve been wondering how well they work. I’m intrigued, but I don’t know anyone who has one…until now. Thanks for the recommendation. I think that will be my next vacuum for sure!

  7. I won’t be jealous, I won’t be jealous!

I LOVE to vacuum and so hope for a Dyson one day…

  8. I got a Dyson a couple of years ago, the purple one. I LOVE IT!!! It is still going strong, and if it ever dies I swear I will hold a funeral and bury it in my backyard.
