That House

Do you remember That House that gave out full-sized candy bars for Halloween? This year, my house is That House.

Behold the glory of my candy bowl:

There are 60 candy bars in there. I doubt very highly that we’ll need that many, but I don’t want to run out. You know, kids have to make a second trip to That House on the way home to see if there’s a chance at getting another candy bar.

Sometimes, I really love being a grown up.

  1. You guys are AWESOME. I saw the full-size candy bar packages at Target yesterday and thought of you.

I’m thinking the Snickers will go first.

    Costco + $24 = Halloween to remember.

I have a whole jar of pickles for AD.

  2. YOU. Rock.

    Yes. Yes, I do.
Gerald and I talk a lot about experiences we’ve had as kids and some of my fondest memories are of trick-or-treating. I still remember That House from when I was a kid. I love that I might be a special memory for a child. Well, not me. My candy. : )

  3. Dude! You are setting yourself for a great future. Your house will be the one that all the kids want to hang out at while Maddie’s growing up. Total parenting bonus, and I give you PROPS!!!

I hope Maddie and her friends hang out at our house when she’s older. I like to think of myself as cool, but I know I’m not. Hence, the candy bribery.

  4. Now let me see, how do I get to your house?

I know, first I have to get on a plane…

Wait, I guess I should just buy my own candy, it might be cheaper.

2 thumbs up for the cool house!!!!

    HUGS!

LOL! Yeah, prolly cheaper to get your own candy. But, if you did come to my house, I would give you TWO candy bars!

  5. You are AWESOME! I want to trick-or-treat there! And it makes me a little sad that no kids trick-or-treat here. :( More Halloween candy for me, I guess.

We don’t have a lot of kids in the neighborhood, either. Not nearly enough for 60 candy bars, that’s for sure! I’ll most likely send the left-overs to work with Gerald.

  6. Oh, I got my fudge recipe posted on my blog now. Go! Make! Enjoy!

  7. I NEVER had That House on my trick-or-treat route growing up! I never even knew Those Houses existed until I was an adult & it was too late!

We’ll have between 80 & 150 kids come to our door, so no way are we going to be the cool ones. They’ll get fun size & like it! I do insist on name-brand candy, at least.

That House was on Brockley. We used to walk Hall, Knickerbocker, Brockely and Belle. Brockley always had the best decorations and candy.

  8. Can I come?

    I think I need a snickers.

I’m also jealous that you get t&ters.
