Loose Ends

First, let me tell you that my kid’s ass is healing nicely, thank you for asking. That Happy Hiney cream must be made out of ingredients purchased in Diagon Alley, because it’s pure magic. After one application, I saw a noticeable difference. I’m expecting it to be completely gone by Monday.

Today, Maddie had her first taste of the following things:
Iced Tea
Lemon
Cantaloupe
French Fry

She was very eager to try everything and not at all mad about the lemon which we of course gave her to watch her face. Hey, a parent’s gotta take their fun where they can get it.

Our little lady also learned to spit this weekend. We were shopping along on Friday and she was blowing spit bubbles, so I blew a raspberry at her. She laughed hysterically and immediately began to blow them back at me, albeit with much more saliva than is required. She did it for 30 minutes and laughed her fool head off. It’s totally our new favorite game. Gerald and I are walking around here spitting like morons just to see her laugh.

As promised to Swistle, I have a review of the Bumbo for you. In a word: BUY ONE. It’s the best $40 we’ve spent. Maddie’s one of those kids that likes to be in the same room ALL THE TIME. She gets very upset when we’re separated and she can’t see one of us. She absolutely adores sitting in it. Most of the time, it’s on the kitchen counter. She sits and talks to me as I wash bottles or unload the dishwasher. I also put her in it on the floor to watch as I fold laundry or make the bed. I’m planning on using it when we begin experimenting with “solid” foods later this month. If you have a child who likes to be held in a sitting position, get a Bumbo and save yourself some grief.

  1. I second the Bumbo! We got a (barely) used one for child #2 and he LOVES it. He’s one of those kids that likes to sit upright, not on an incline like in a bouncy seat, but upright. We sat it on the kitchen table and used it to feed him solids (our kitchen is way too small for a giant high chair).

Baby in a Bumbo also makes a really unique centerpiece at dinner parties, too.

  2. They have such cool stuff for babies these days! (Gawd that makes me sound old, lol!) And lol at Maddie laughing, god I love it when babies laugh.

Ack! C’mon, kids of mine; hurry up and marry and start popping some babies out.

(What? I sound crass? SO WHAT! lol)

    :)

They know how I feel about this, believe me, heh.

  3. I think I’m going to have to get one for this baby.

  4. Happy first Mother’s Day! Enjoy these days and that beautiful baby girl!

    Huggs and spit!
