"I’m totally going to blog this, you know."
Last night, on the way home from church, we saw another car just like mine. The make and model isn’t rare at all, but the color is. As we pulled up to the intersection, I pointed out the doppelganger to my husband. “Hey look! There’s my car!”
Then, Gerald and Maddie and I had to stop by the grocery store to pick up some dog food. Gerald ran into the store and I drove around the parking lot. (Maddie HATES to be in the car when it’s not moving. She even fusses at stop signs and red lights.) On my fifth trip around toward the door, I see my car’s doppelganger parked in front of the doors. “Hey!” I thought, “There’s my car again.” As I cruised slowly by, I thought, “And there’s my husband….” Gerald was standing at the back of the other car, with the trunk/hatch open, trying to load dog food into it. He had just realized that it wasn’t our car when I pulled up. I rolled down my window and yelled out, “Oh. My. God. You. Are. So. Retarded.”
Turns out, as he had opened the back of this other car, a bunch of softball equipment fell out. His first thought was that my dad had loaded it all into my car during church. Then, I guess he realized how ridiculous that thought was and noticed that there was man in the driver’s seat. Gerald said the only thing the man said to him after he apologized was, “Can you get that stuff all back in there, ok?” Needless to say, Gerald was mortified.
After I had calmed down and stopped laughing, I looked at Gerald and said, “I’m totally going to blog this, you know.”
To which he replied, “Yeah. I kinda figured.”

It’s funny that he knows you well enough to know it was going to show up here. Funny story.
