Metropolitian Girls on the Go

Maddie and I are having a busy week. Yesterday, my LTD check FINALLY got here so we drove over to Ft. Worth to deposit it. Since we were right there, I took Maddie to see everyone at my old workplace. It was so nice to see everyone again and to get to show her off. After we got home and ate dinner, Gerald watched Maddie so that I could go grocery shopping. As much as I love Maddie and spending time with her, it was cathartic to get out by myself.

Today is my one-month postpartum doctor visit. yay. Now that I’m not pregnant, a trip to the OB/Gyn is not high on my list. But after my appointment, we’re going to go see Gerald at work. I’m pretty sure he misses us and needs some baby lovin’ to brighten his workday. Later tonight, we have Ash Wednesday service at church. It’ll be Maddie’s first church service. I figured it’d be easier to attempt this Herculean feat on a Wednesday when it’ll be less crowded than a Sunday morning.

And this is not the end of our whirlwind week. Oh, no, not at all. Tomorrow, I’m getting my haircut for the first time since I was put on bed rest. Hallelujah!! And then on Friday, I’m taking Maddie back to the pediatrician for a follow up to make sure her ear infection has cleared up.

Now don’t be jealous of this jam-packed social calendar. One day you, too, can live the high life like we do.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any cuter… oh yes… those are little baby Keds.

  1. Wow, if my calendar wasn’t so jam packed, I just might be jealous. I get to go to the gyn today, and take the wild child to the orthodontist tomorrow, followed by helping in the little mans classroom on Friday.

Every time I see that baby my womb wiggles a little. But then I remember my 16 year old, and it all goes away.

Oh, and the baby keds are the BOMB!

    HUGS!

  2. What I am jealous of is those jeans!

  3. Boy you are out and about like a real pro! And with the prettiest baby in town! Those jeans are the cutest thing I have seen in ages!

But I do agree with Grace on the teenages thing - do enjoy now!

  4. Maddie’s grandma got her those jeans for $8 from Wal-Mart. How come jeans for us cost waaaay more than that and are 1/2 as cute?

  5. Erica, if you were as cute as Maddie, who is pure distilled cuteness, poor Gerald would really have his hands full, even more than her has now!!! WEG
    Warm hugs,
    Paul.

  6. Oh man, seeing that adorable still-kind-of-newborn sweetness made me excited all over again about the new baby in my belly, exhaustion and labor be damned! Also, I was a little jealous of your week’s plans. Is that tragic? We have been snowed in for like a month on and off, and I have been to church and the grocery. And my mom’s. That’s it. Can we say cabin fever?
