I’m the luckiest girl in the world

Those of you who have read along with my pregnancy already know how much I love my husband. Astonishingly, I now love him even more than I ever thought possible. He is the absolute best man on the planet. He’s taking such good care of me and Maddie. He even stayed up all night in the living room with her last night so that I could sleep the Nyquil sleep and hopefully feel semi-human today. (I do, thank God.)

He encouraged me to get out of the house to preserve my sanity. And while I was gone, he cleaned and took care of Maddie. He’s also said that this week he wants his mom and me to go to a movie and he’ll watch Maddie. Again: He’s The Best Husband Ever.

Baby, I love you so much. I know there’s no way I could do any of this without you. Thank you for all you do for us. We may be too cranky to appreciate it at the time, but believe me, we really do appreciate every little thing you do for us. I wish I’d never married you, you know ; )

  1. Dear Erica, things haven’t been easy, but they will get better.
Sending you love and positive thoughts.
    Warm hugs,
    Paul.

  2. Erica,

Every parent in the entire world has gone through this. One night I had to get up to nurse the baby and I just started crying and sobbing because everyone in the world was asleep and I was awake with a cranky baby.

Now I just stay awake all night worrying about my teenager….you never quite get a full night sleep being a parent.

You can do this, your not doing anything wrong. This too shall pass.

Isn’t it funny how our men just step right up to the plate and take over….just when we need them the MOST??? Good job Gerald, right now, you’re a saint among men!

    HUGS!

  3. Erica,
It sounds like you do have a wonderful man and you are good to realize it and tell him. When my babies were a month old I wondered how I had gotten throught the first few weeks. Each stage gets a bit easier and you feel much more confident. Just remember you are doing it right because you are Maddie’s mom. Some day she will be saying “I’m doing it this way because that’s the way MY MOM did it!

    Hugs,
    Elis

  4. Keep the tagteam working. You both seem to have it together. The rest will work itself out. :)

  5. Erica & Gerald-
Hang in there! My new little “koala bear” stays pretty well attached to me so fortunately I have a hubby who ranks up there with Gerald who went to the grocery and did all the dishes (and cleaned my glasses that “somehow” got smudged)! Time to try to sleep while he is! Feel better. Love and luck!!
