Scarred for life!
I have to tell you what happened to me at the grocery store today. I’m shopping along, minding my own business when this women pushing a cart full of kids walks past me in the opposite direction. Her little boy, I’m guessing 6 or 7 years old, points at me and SCREAMS, “Look how fat she is!!!”
This is the first time in my whole life that something like this has happened to me. I’m a big girl, but I’m not what you would call “point and shout” fat.
Stunned, I waited for the mom to say something. Anything. But she doesn’t. She just pretends it’s not happening. Well, I don’t pretend any such thing. I’m in the crowded store, I’m hot, I’m eight months pregnant and I’m pissed. So I scream right back at the kid, “I’m not fat, I’m pregnant! Thank you!”
He just stared with his little finger still pointing at me. I rolled my cart on down the coke aisle and kept on shopping. I think I probably scarred him for life.
I’m totally building those parenting skills.

LOL! You go girlfriend! *shakes her pom-poms*
Me? I woulda tried to become one with the linoleum.
You are just learning from other how not to parent! I once wouldn’t let my son have a sucker at the drycleaners because he would not say thank-you. He was almost three. I thought the owner, who when to our church, was going to cry! After that the man always brought candy to church to give my kid, who always said thank-you!
ENJOY the rest of your pregnancy. It will be a memory very soon!
Hugs,
Elis
Good for you Erica, I do believe that bad manners should be corrected, he’ll thank you in later life.
Be well dear girl, it’s nearly over and Christmas is here.
Warm hugs,
Paul.
Taylor - If I hadn’t been pregnant and pissed, I would have just slunk away and cried. Trust me. However, being full of baby and hormones does something to you, doesn’t it? I just don’t know how to keep my mouth shut these days!
Elis - OMG! You mean your kids have manners? *gasp* I didn’t know those actually existed anymore! Gerald and I are always talking about how we think our kid will be the only one on the planet who has them. It’s so good to know that we’re not alone : )
Paul - He’ll either thank me or send me a bill for the therapy!
You are going to be a great mom. My son has manners also. They learn from example!
Huggs
