Blown away
Yesterday, friends and family gathered at a baby shower for Gerald and me. To say that we were blown away by their kindness and generosity would be a gross understatement.
Most of the people there drove an hour to get there….. some family members drove five hours. We got to talk, laugh and reminisce. It was wonderful. I’ve been feeling increasingly isolated and alone lately, but yesterday showed me just how “not alone” we are. We are loved by so many fantastic people.
Angela throws the best showers EVER. It was perfect. The food, the guests, everything. She is a phenomenal friend.
My dad and his girlfriend went insanely overboard on the gifts for us. They got us a travel system (car seat and stroller combo), a crib, tons of gorgeous outfits, a Target gift card and more! I feel guilty about accepting it all. It was more money than they should have spent.
We also got the baby’s play yard from Gerald’s parents. We got the bouncy seat from his grandparents. Along with homemade blankets galore! The baby’s going to have so many nice things to pass on to her children one day.
Needless to say, I cried like a dope most of the day. It was just so overwhelming. Gerald and I know how loved we are and, we can breath easier knowing we have most of the things that we need for the baby.
I need to get started on the thank you cards!
