Nesting
Today, I completed my last nesting project; I cleaned out the pantry. We had canned veggies in there that Gerald had in his apartment before we got married. Seriously scary. It wasn’t too hard, though. It took me less than an hour. Now, we know exactly what we have in there and we can stock up on pantry staples when we go to the store.
I have no idea why I felt this had to be done before the baby got here, but it was imperative. So far, I’ve cleaned my things out of the baby’s closet and washed all of the clothes we have for her, I’ve cleaned out the “junk drawers” in the kitchen, the medicine cabinets and now, the pantry. The only things that are left are the big cleaning projects I want done. I don’t think I’m going to be able to do those, though. Being down on my hands and knees cleaning baseboards seems like a little much. I also want to paint the kitchen before she’s born. Having two large dogs means mud and dirt on the walls from about three feet down. And of course, the walls still have that cheap-ass paint on them that the builders used, so scrubbing the walls effectively removes the dirt and paint. Sheesh. Maybe Gerald will paint over the Christmas break. But, if it doesn’t happen, it won’t be the end of the world. Not like the baby’s going to notice and if visiting family cares that much, maybe they’ll paint for us. Right? Right.
