Welcome to Fantasy Island

I’ve been blogging on and off for three years. I called it quits “for good this time, I swear!” a few months ago. Why am I eating crow, you ask? Well, not only is it an excellent source of protein, but I came to realize that with being in my bed 20 plus hours a day, I needed another hobby…you know, besides watching TLC and Discovery Health Channel. There are only so many episodes of “Wedding Story” and “Baby Baby” that one can watch and maintain a modicum of sanity.

Here’s the back story: My husband, Gerald, and I have been married for two and a half years. I’m 25, almost 26 weeks pregnant with our first child. Last week, I started having contractions and my OB prescribed a week of bed rest. Things didn’t improve, so I was admitted to the hospital. Granted, my stay there was only 36 hours long, but it was a looooong 36 hours. I got the green light to come home and here I’ll stay for the next 9 to 15 weeks. I’m not sure how long our daughter is going to wait before she makes her grand entrance. Not even born and she’s a drama queen. Is there any chance for us as parents? I’m going to go with a big, fat “no” on that one.

Meanwhile, my saint of a husband is busy trying to stretch every dollar he earns to cover the loss of my paycheck, and doing all the cooking and cleaning. We won’t even mention the daily drama he has to deal with in the form of a weepy, emotionally unstable, and very needy wife. Wait, I’m not being entirely honest. It’s much worse than that. Really. I’m sugarcoating.

I hope you’ll enjoy our time together. If you don’t, just remember you can walk away at anytime. Me, not so much. If I don’t like you, I’m pretty much stuck.

  • Oh goodness, I’m soooo glad your back. NOT so glad that you came back under these circumstances!!!

Bed rest, not so fun. You think, awww this won’t be so bad, but when you just want to throw in a load of laundry, or get yourself a snack, you begin to realize this is NO fun!

Hang in the Sweetie! I’m pulling for you!

    HUGS!

  • grace – Thank you! I’m glad to be back. I do have to admit that I frequently get up during the day under the guise of “going to the bathroom” and I take a little trip around the house. I get so stiff and sore just sitting or laying here. I need to stretch my legs and the bathroom is only 3 steps away from the bed, so it’s not exactly a constitutional, you know?
